Prada Paradoxe versions compared

Prada Paradoxe now comes in five versions: the Eau de Parfum of 2022, Intense (2023), Virtual Flower (2024), Radical Essence (2025) and Sweet Chemistry (2026). Head to head, Virtual Flower is a fresh floral Eau de Parfum on jasmine, neroli, musk and ambrette, while Radical Essence is the only Parfum, built on neroli, salted pistachio and sandalwood. The table below sets concentration, launch year, Prada's own description, key notes and bottle price per 100 ml side by side for all five.

Virtual Flower vs Radical Essence

Virtual Flower is the 2024 Eau de Parfum in the fresh floral family. Radical Essence came a year later as the only Parfum, and Prada calls it the most concentrated expression of Paradoxe.

The notes pull in different directions. Virtual Flower works from Italian Vert de Bergamot at the top through jasmine and neroli in the heart, closing on musk and ambrette where the original ends on amber, benzoin and vanilla. Radical Essence opens on neroli oil and orange flower heart absolute (Prada notes that every Paradoxe contains neroli as a key ingredient), then turns to a salted pistachio accord in the heart and a creamy sandalwood accord at the base.

The bottles differ as well: Virtual Flower is a fresh light pink with its name on the top chamfer, Radical Essence a deep pink lacquer. Both come in 30, 50 and 90 ml, and the French store lists a 100 ml refill for Radical Essence only, at €180.00. The per-100 ml figures above use the 90 ml bottles.

Paradoxe Eau de Parfum, the 2022 original

The original arrived in 2022 as a floral ambery Eau de Parfum. Its short note list pairs fresh neroli bud with amber and musk; the full pyramid runs Calabrian bergamot heart, tangerine essence and pear accord at the top, neroli essence and neroli bud essence with Tunisian orange flower heart absolute blossom and jasmine sambac absolute in the heart, then an amber accord, Laos benzoin resinoid, Madagascar premium bourbon vanilla infusion and a white musk accord at the base.

Nadège Le Garlantezec, Shyamala Maisondieu and Antoine Maisondieu are named as the perfumers on every version, the original included, where Prada says they worked with Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons. The bottle takes the shape of the Prada triangle logo and is designed to rest on its side.

  Bergamot and tangerine at the top, jasmine and orange flower in the middle, amber, benzoin and vanilla underneath: this is the 2022 original. Prada's phrase for it is timeless and sensual. Its 90 ml bottle works out at €194.44 per 100 ml, the same figure as Virtual Flower and Sweet Chemistry.

Paradoxe Intense, the original turned up slightly

Prada released Intense in 2023, still an Eau de Parfum and still by the same three perfumers. The house's summary is that it takes the original perfume and turns it up ever so slightly: a jasmine super infusion and a moss accord are the additions the note list shows, and the family shifts from floral ambery to floral ambery woody.

Bergamot essence, neroli buds and pear accord open it; neroli essence, jasmine super infusion and moss accord fill the heart; amber accord, vanilla infusion and white musk accord close it. Its bottle comes in a deeper pink, described by Prada as deep coral pink in one place and deep pink in another.

  Moss accord and jasmine super infusion distinguish this version from the original; Prada places both in the heart. The house calls it warm and delicate, with a woody inflexion to the floral ambery family. Its base retains amber accord, vanilla infusion and white musk accord.

Paradoxe Virtual Flower, the fresh one

Virtual Flower dates from 2024, and Prada files it under fresh floral, or floral fresh in the FAQ wording. Its note list is Italian Vert de Bergamot at the top, a heart of jasmine accord and neroli, and a base of musk and ambrette; the house's description speaks of fresh and zesty top notes, a lively flowery heart, and musk and ambrette at the base for comfort.

The bottle is a fresh light pink with the name on its top chamfer. Like the others, it is designed to rest on its side. It is one of the three versions at €194.44 per 100 ml from the 90 ml bottle.

  Italian Vert de Bergamot leads this fresh floral, followed by jasmine and neroli. Musk and ambrette form the base, rather than the amber and vanilla named for the original. The light pink triangle bottle carries the Virtual Flower name on its top chamfer.

Paradoxe Radical Essence, the only Parfum

Radical Essence was introduced in 2025 and is the outlier on paper: a Parfum where the other four are Eau de Parfum, and the dearest per 100 ml at €233.33 from the 90 ml bottle.

Neroli oil and orange flower heart absolute lead, a salted pistachio accord with roasted and salty notes sits in the heart, and a creamy sandalwood accord closes. Prada files the family as floral ambery woody in the product tab and floral gourmand woody in its FAQ, and describes the scent as addictive and sensual. The triangle bottle is lacquered in deep pink.

  Paradoxe Radical Essence

  Salted pistachio sits between the neroli and orange flower opening and the creamy sandalwood base. This is the only version sold as a Parfum, and Prada calls it a sophisticated gourmand. Its deep pink lacquered bottle is another distinction from the light pink Virtual Flower.

Paradoxe Sweet Chemistry, the fruity one

Sweet Chemistry is the newest version, launched on 1 September 2026. Like every Paradoxe, it includes neroli as a key ingredient. Its notes are a blackcurrant syrup accord at the top, orange blossom absolute in the heart and a creamy neroli milk accord at the base; Prada files it as floral fruity and elsewhere speaks of a vibrant fruity floral signature.

Its refillable bottle is deep purple, in the same triangle shape as the rest. At €194.44 per 100 ml it matches the original and Virtual Flower, and the 100 ml refill comes in at €150.00 per 100 ml.

  Blackcurrant syrup accord is the top note here, followed by orange blossom absolute. Neroli appears as a creamy milk accord at the base. Prada sums up this Eau de Parfum as sweet and sophisticated, with a floral fruity character.

Refills and sizes

Prada sells every version in 30 ml, 50 ml and 90 ml bottles. The French store also lists a 100 ml refill for the original, Intense, Radical Essence and Sweet Chemistry; no refill is listed for Virtual Flower. Prada's FAQ states that the entire range is refillable.

By size, the 30 ml and 50 ml bottles cost €90 and €128 for the original, Virtual Flower and Sweet Chemistry, €100 and €144 for Intense, and €112 and €157 for Radical Essence. The 90 ml bottle is the size used for the per-100 ml figures above.

A refill costs less per 100 ml in every version that has one: €150.00 for the original and Sweet Chemistry, €165.00 for Intense, €180.00 for Radical Essence. Prada's figure for the saving is that buying a 100 ml refill instead of two 50 ml bottles uses 44% less glass, 100% less metal, 67% less plastic and 61% less cardboard.

Which Paradoxe to choose

• Spring and summer: Virtual Flower, which Prada calls ideal for the season, with Vert de Bergamot and a jasmine-neroli heart over musk and ambrette.
• Something warm and mossy: Intense, the 2023 version that adds jasmine super infusion and a moss accord to the original's frame.
• Amber, benzoin and vanilla: the 2022 Eau de Parfum, Prada's timeless and sensual floral ambery version, with fresh neroli bud among its key notes.
• The most concentrated, in Prada's words: Radical Essence, the only Parfum, on salted pistachio and sandalwood.
• Something fruity: Sweet Chemistry, with blackcurrant syrup over orange blossom and a neroli milk base.
