Cinnamon is the inner bark of a tropical tree, dried into curls and quills. A distilled oil or extract is used in perfume. The smell is warm, sweet and spicy, slightly woody, with a glowing, almost sugary heat. Used lightly it adds a cosy richness. Used boldly it becomes a signature of oriental and gourmand scents. Perfumers combine cinnamon with vanilla, amber, orange, rose and patchouli. It fits both the top of a perfume and the warm heart behind it.
Cinnamon spreads across the top and heart in this range, adding a warm, sweet spice that glows against vanilla and amber.
