Praline

1

Praline is a confectionery note: nuts roasted with sugar until they turn golden, then ground into a smooth, buttery paste. In perfume it smells sweet, toasty and nutty, with caramel, a trace of vanilla and a rich, creamy warmth. Perfumers build it from gourmand accords and aroma molecules, because the sweet cannot be extracted as an oil. It brings an edible warmth to amber, woods and florals, and gives vanilla and tonka a darker, toastier twist. It is cosy and comforting, a favourite for cold evenings.

In this range it sits mostly in the base and heart, adding a toasted, caramelised sweetness beneath amber, woods and vanilla.
