Ylang-Ylang 38 Ylang-ylang is a flower from a tropical tree. The petals are distilled in stages to give oils of different strength. The scent is creamy, sweet and heady, with fruity, banana-like touches and a jasmine-like warmth. It is rich without being heavy. Perfumers use ylang-ylang in white floral bouquets and in oriental blends, where it adds a velvety, exotic softness. It works well with jasmine, vanilla, sandalwood and citrus. The effect is lush but smooth. It gives floral perfumes a full, rounded sweetness.
Ylang-ylang is mostly a heart note in this range, adding a creamy, exotic sweetness at the centre of floral compositions.
