Mandarin orange and olibanum open the Parfum, then fig tree and orris form a powdery heart. Cedar and leather close it. Annick Menardo and Suzy Le Helley composed it in 2022. Woody, amber and a little animalic, it wears long with strong sillage on colder working days.

I wore the 3 ml decant on a lunch date in late autumn. The mandarin opens bright, then the leather and cedar settle into something warm and polished. It stayed moderate, noticeable at a close distance, which suited the occasion. She noticed it as soon as we sat down.

Mandarin oil is pressed from the peel of a small, sweet citrus fruit. The scent is juicy, soft and sunny, sweeter and rounder than lemon or bergamot, with a slight floral thread.
Olibanum is another name for frankincense, a resin collected from the bark of Boswellia trees. When distilled or extracted, it gives a dry, balsamic, lemony and slightly peppery smell with a pine-like freshness and a calm, smoky depth.
Orris is the dried root of certain iris plants, not the flower. The rhizomes are aged for years, then processed into orris butter, one of the most valued ingredients in perfumery.
Cedar is a dry, aromatic wood. Its scent is clean and crisp like pencil shavings, with a light smokiness and a pale, slightly sweet resinous edge.
Leather in perfume is not taken from hides. It is an accord built by perfumers to recreate the smell of worked leather.
