Absinthe and nutmeg give the opening an herbal, faintly spiced edge, while cacao, iris and sage keep the middle dry and bitter rather than sweet. Ambroxan, styrax and vetiver close it in a smooth woody base. It suits cool evenings out, or any day you want something aromatic that stays a little mysterious.

First spray is bright and a little bitter, with absinthe up front. Within half an hour it softens into creamy cacao, then settles into a warm amber base that stays on my skin all day.
