Lavender, bergamot and lemon give Riviera Lazuli a crisp, herbal opening, while iris, rose and violet make a soft, powdery floral at the centre. Cedar, amber and musk close it quietly. This 2021 eau de parfum by Marie Salamagne wears long, with a moderate trail.

I picked up the 10 ml decant for my girlfriend, mostly because the description sounded like her: clean, bright, a little unexpected. She put it on her wrists, went quiet for a second, then smiled and said it smelled like a clear morning with the window open. It has lavender up front and a soft iris heart underneath. She's worn it to work nearly every day since, and I keep finding excuses to stand next to her. Easily the best gift I've given this year.
