Jasmine sambac, pink pepper and silkwood blossom open this amber Eau de Parfum, with chestnut, vanilla and whipped cream in the heart. Cashmere wood and sandalwood form the base. Sweet, lactonic and woody, it is a soft, warm scent for cold days.

First spray: sweet and creamy, a bit like whipped cream with something warm underneath. Very sweet, almost too much at first. Give it ten minutes. The jasmine comes through and it softens into vanilla and a smooth base. Cosy rather than sexy. I wear it in the evenings when it's cold. Pretty, comforting, easy. One star off because the opening is sugary for my taste, otherwise lovely.

Owning another bottle from this house, I find this one noticeably creamier and more vanilla-led, where the other feels drier and more polished. The 10 ml decant lets me wear it in the colder months without commitment. Sweet and cosy, though slightly too sugary on some days, hence four stars.

In der 3 ml Abfüllung habe ich mich erst durch den Duft getastet. Zuerst blitzt etwas rosa Pfeffer auf, dann legt sich die Vanille wie eine Decke darüber, mit einem Hauch Schlagsahne. Es duftet nach einem langen Abend am Kamin, ein bisschen gemütlich und sehr weich. Für den Sommer wäre es mir zu schwer, aber im Winter ist es genau mein Duft. Ein Stern weniger, weil ich mir zwischendurch etwas mehr Frische wünschen würde.

Ik heb nog een ander parfum van dit huis en dit is duidelijk zoeter en romiger. Het andere is wat droger en strakker, dit voelt zachter en gezelliger aan. Ik draag het vooral 's avonds in de herfst en winter, voor warme dagen is het me te zwaar. Met de 10 ml decant kan ik het rustig uitproberen zonder een hele fles te kopen. Eén ster eraf omdat ik het net iets te zoet vind voor dagelijks gebruik, maar als ik zin heb in iets knus pak ik dit.

Jasmine sambac is a white jasmine, also called Arabian jasmine, whose flowers open in the evening. It smells richer and fuller than common jasmine, with a creamy, green and fruity sweetness, a slightly tea-like freshness and a lush floral heart.
Pink pepper is not true pepper. It is the dried berry of a tree from the Schinus family.
Vanilla comes from the cured pods of a climbing orchid. The pods are fermented and dried until they turn dark and oily, and that process develops the scent.
Cashmere Wood is a catalogue label for a soft, smooth woody-musky effect, usually built around modern aroma molecules such as Cashmeran. It is not a wood from a tree.
Sandalwood is the heartwood of a slow-growing tree, distilled into a pale, oily essence. The scent is smooth, creamy and softly woody, with a gentle milky sweetness and a hint of warmth.
