Lime
6Lime is a sharp, zesty citrus note, greener and drier than lemon, with a tart, slightly bitter edge. It comes from the peel, pressed or distilled into an oil that smells fresh and clean. Perfumers use lime to put a sparkling start on a fragrance, and it pairs naturally with mint, ginger, vetiver and marine notes in cooling, summery compositions. It also cuts through sweetness, so vanilla and woods feel less heavy. A lime opening is brief, bright and direct, a bit like the first squeeze over a cold drink.
In this range it sits almost entirely in the top, a sharp, green citrus spark that sets the tone before the heart arrives.
