Plum
1Plum in perfume is juicy, sweet-tart and a little jammy, with a dark, wine-like depth that sets it apart from lighter fruits. The fruit gives little usable oil, so perfumers recreate the note with fruity aroma molecules and accords. A plum note often has a soft, almost floral side. It adds richness to roses, woods, tobacco and amber, and a ripe, velvety sweetness to gourmand blends, and it sits easily beside vanilla and patchouli. Used lightly it gives a rounded fruit glow without turning the fragrance sugary.
In this range it mostly sits in the top, a ripe fruity opening that melts into roses, woods and amber.
