Vetiver 188 Vetiver is a tall grass whose roots are washed, dried and distilled. The oil smells earthy, smoky and woody, with a dry green freshness like cut roots and damp soil. It is a long-standing ingredient in men's and unisex fragrances, though it works in any style. Vetiver brings a serious, grounded quality to a perfume. It combines well with citrus, cedar, patchouli and musk, and it can be crisp and cool or dark and rooty depending on how it is distilled and blended.
Vetiver is mostly a base note in this range, giving a dry, earthy, green-smoky foundation under lighter notes.
