Amber

16

Amber in perfume is not a single ingredient. It is an accord, a warm blend built from resins such as labdanum and benzoin, often with vanilla and a little musk. The result smells golden, sweet and slightly powdery, with a resinous depth. Perfumers use it to give an oriental or woody-amber character, and it blends well with spices, woods and flowers. It is also a different thing from the fossil resin used in jewellery. In fragrance, amber is a warm base that holds the other notes together and gives a perfume its rounded, glowing finish.

In this range amber mostly sits in the base, forming a warm, resinous bed under the heart and top notes.
