Caramel 58 Caramel is a gourmand note that suggests cooked sugar. Perfumers build it from aroma molecules, since the sweet treat itself has no scent oil. The note smells sweet, buttery and toasty, with a warm, slightly burnt edge and a soft creaminess. In perfume it adds a comforting, dessert-like richness to vanilla, amber and woods, and it also sweetens fruit and flowers. A little goes a long way. Too much can feel heavy, which is why perfumers often balance it with citrus, spice or musk.
Caramel is spread across the top, heart and base in this range, though it most often sits in the base, adding a warm, buttery sweetness.
