Honey in perfume suggests warm, sticky sweetness with a waxy, floral edge. It is rarely taken from the hive: perfumers build the effect from beeswax absolute and from aroma molecules that echo honey's golden, slightly animalic sweetness. Some versions lean floral and almost hay-like, others darker, closer to tobacco or caramel. Honey rounds off sharp edges and gives vanilla, amber and white flowers a rich, glossy body. Used lightly it adds a sunny warmth. Used heavily it becomes thick and syrupy, which suits cold weather and evening wear.
In this range it spreads across all three levels, most often in the heart, where its waxy sweetness binds florals, spice and amber together.
