Iris
25Iris butter comes from the rhizomes, the underground roots, of the iris plant. They are dried and aged for several years before the scent is extracted, which is why the material is so rare and valued. It smells powdery, silky and cool, with a waxy, slightly earthy softness and a violet-like sweetness. Some perfumers describe it as the scent of lipstick or fine face powder. Iris adds elegance and a calm, refined character, and it blends well with woods, musk, vanilla and leather.
