Peach
29Peach has no useful essential oil, so perfumers build the note from aroma molecules called lactones, which smell creamy, soft and fruity. The effect is velvety and juicy, with a sweet, slightly fuzzy skin and a hint of apricot. Peach adds a smooth, rounded fruitiness to florals, musks and woods without making them sharp. It pairs well with jasmine, rose, vanilla and sandalwood, and it can feel cosy and gourmand or fresh and summery, depending on what surrounds it. Used lightly, it reads as a skin-like softness rather than a bowl of fruit.
Peach sits mostly in the top notes here, with some presence in the heart, adding a soft, velvety, juicy sweetness to the opening.
