Raspberry 55 Raspberry gives no usable oil, so perfumers create the note with fruity aroma molecules. It smells sweet, tart and juicy, with a jammy depth and a faint floral, rosy side. The effect is closer to a freshly crushed berry than to a pudding. Raspberry brightens the opening of a fragrance and gives it a playful, lively energy. It pairs with rose, peony, vanilla and musk, and it can also add a soft fruitiness to woods and amber. Because it is sugary, it is usually balanced with something green or woody.
Raspberry sits mostly in the top notes in this range, giving the opening a juicy, tart and slightly jammy sweetness.
