Ambergris 75 Ambergris is a rare waxy substance that forms in the digestive system of sperm whales and is later found drifting or washed ashore. Aged by sun and sea, it develops a soft, salty, sweet and musky smell with a mineral, almost marine warmth. Because the natural material is scarce, most perfumes today recreate the note with aroma molecules and accords. The impression stays the same: a smooth, skin-like glow with a hint of sea air. Perfumers use ambergris to add radiance to woods, florals and amber, and it pairs well with musk, sandalwood and citrus.
Ambergris sits mostly in the base in this range, adding a salty, musky radiance that rounds off woods and amber.
