Nutmeg

13

Nutmeg is the hard seed of a tropical evergreen tree. When grated or distilled, it releases a warm, sweet and woody spice with a slightly camphor-like freshness. It is rounder than pepper and drier than cinnamon. In perfume, nutmeg adds a comforting, polished heat, and it works as a bridge between citrus openings and woody or amber bases. Perfumers pair it with cardamom, lavender, vanilla, sandalwood and leather. It is common in masculine fragrances, but it suits any warm composition.

Nutmeg is spread across the top and heart in this range, giving a warm, woody spice that connects the opening to the base.
